So… this post started as an article about Cinco de Mayo Cupcakes – but there were literally SOOOO many yummy Margarita Cupcake recipes and awesome decorating ideas, that I decided that this category of cakes deserved it’s own time in the spotlight.
So without further ado, lets dive right into the deliciousness that is the Margarita Cupcake…
With Tequila Glaze & Lime Frosting
Ok… this is seriously delicious! The Tequila Glaze is such a simple way to really infuse some fantastic boozy flavor without overwhelming the taste of the cupcake.
I also love the subtle, but awesome, decorating idea of using a ring of frosting dipped in sugar crystals on the edge of the cupcake. It makes it feel just like a sugar-rimmed margarita glass.

Tequila on Top!
This is totally impractical for serving… but I’ve never seen it done this way before, so I just had to include it in the list!

This is a great flavor combo! The best part is that it’s different from all the strawberry and lime recipes that you see everywhere.
The Mango and Peaches give the right amount of sweet, tangy, and fruity that makes them a perfect summer boozy-esque cupcake.

Strawberry Margarita Cupcake Shooters!
Speaking of the “normal” strawberry margarita variations… this one puts a super awesome spin on the traditional by turning it into a cupcake shooter!
This combo features fresh strawberries, lime juice, strawberry cake infused with tequila and a to-die-for tequila cream cheese frosting.
I think personally that a sugar-rimmed glass would be the icing on the cake (pun-intended) that would put these over the top.
