Hot Chocolate Cupcakes
As I sit here hoping for colder weather in the middle of a typical southern heat wave for the holidays, I find myself feeling nostalgic for hot chocolate. While it’s a little warm around here for the real thing, these fun cupcake recipes will do the trick while I wait on Jack Frost to make his rounds!
Hot Chocolate Cupcakes with Marshmallow Buttercream
This recipe comes to us courtesy of Belle of the Kitchen writer Ashlyn, who says that:
“These hot chocolate cupcakes are topped with a delicious marshmallow buttercream and made to look like little cups of hot cocoa! With a candy cane handle and mini marshmallows on top, these are so fun for the holidays! “

Best Chocolate Cupcake Recipe
This recipe comes from Today’s Mama writer Amy Allen Johnson, who says:
“Need a blue-ribbon chocolate cupcake recipe? After testing nearly every cupcake cookbook and recipe out there, my mom and I agreed this is the best chocolate cupcakes recipe. Period. Moist chocolate cake with just a few chocolate chips mixed in — Mmm Mmmmm!
Sometime between batches 423 and 425, we discovered another chocolate cupcake recipe with a marshmallow center– Brilliant! Only the cupcakes were hollow and hard.. a total disaster!
What to do? We used this favorite and created our own chocolate cupcake recipeby adding a large marshmallow after it comes out of the oven. Be sure to cover the marshmallow completely with frosting to keep your secret. Voila! Marshmallow Stuffed Cupcakes!“

Bottoms Up! Irish Cream Hot Fudge Cupcakes
This recipe comes from Heather at Sprinkle Bakes and she says:
“Whenever dessert can be interactive, that’s a plus in my book. I love dishing up sweets that will make people feel special, and for me, that doesn’t always mean handing out slices of cake. I’m talking individual desserts, all dressed up for one with an element of surprise. I live for that sort of thing.
This is one such recipe. It yields 6 muffin-sized cupcakes, and you’ll need 6 mini bottles of Irish cream to make them. The Irish cream is used to flavor all four elements of the cupcake – and my favorite of all is the homemade hot fudge sauce that sits atop the frosting in an upturned bottle.”
