Almost every bakery owner I know struggles every day with two main things:
Growing their bakery & Not having a ton of left-over treats at the end of the day.
So today, I want to give you a quick tip on how you can grow your bakery, and keep those precious, sugary delights out of the trash can at the end of the day.
Give them away!
Yup… you heard me. Take those treats and give them away to other businesses in your area.
In the bakery business, word-of-mouth goes a loooong way in growing your business. Showing up unexpectedly at a business with an arm full of treats is a great way to get the employees talking about you.
Now – be careful. You want to leave a good impression, so don’t go handing out treats that are stale and BELONG in the trash.
Instead, at the end of the day, pick out the treats that won’t be good tomorrow, but are still delicious now, and bundle them up and take them out and deliver them.
You can also do the same thing when you have excess product, or you just want to do some sweet marketing.
Some really great spots are going to be places that get a lot of foot traffic from customers… like restaurants, and local shops. Don’t forget to leave some business cards behind, and make sure your name, logo, and contact information is on the boxes you leave behind.
