This Edible BIllboard Takes the Cake… Literally!

Posted Mar 16, 2016 in Uncategorized   1 minutes

Edible Billboard Takes the Cake

There has been a debate in recent years over the effectiveness of billboards given all the modern real-time advertising options there are out there.

Mr. Kipling’s Bakery in the UK decided to think outside the cake box and build the world’s first edible billboard.

Unveiled on September 4, 2014, this massive billboard is made up of 13,360 cakes and 2,000 glace cherries and pledges that “Life is Better with Cake”.

Instead of just hoping people would happen to pass by and see it, Mr. Kipling turned to social media to send out tweets and posts encouraging cake lovers in London to stop by and take a bite with them.

The final billboard measured nearly 20ft x 10ft when it was complete. World renowned food artist Michelle Wibowo and her team spent 7 hours overnight working to assemble it.

When they were done, the Mr. Kipling team spent the morning handing out the cakes to happy Londoners.

They proved that thinking outside the box when it comes to advertising can be a great way to get the attention of your customers and grow your business.
