Posted Mar 11, 2016 in Uncategorized   3 minutes

Memorial Day is right around the corner and your customers are already dreaming of the long weekend with visions of grilled goodies dancing through their heads.  So make sure to stock your cases with cookout-themed treats that will bring in the customers!

Hamburger Cupcakes

I love love love how much these looks like mini cheeseburgers!

It’s a basic yellow cake cupcake cut in half for the top and bottom bun.  A brownie round for the meat patty.  Yellow and Red frosting for cheese/mustard, and ketchup.  Green dyed coconut flakes for the lettuce.  White sprinkles for the sesame seeds, and a food toothpick with a flag to hold it all together and look awesome.

Here’s a step-by-step video from Nerdy Nummies on how to assembly these awesome treats!

Hot Dogs on the Grill Cupcakes

These are so simple, and so awesome!

I don’t think I would use red hots like they did in their recipe since not everyone likes those.  You might look for the boxes of Mike & Ike’s that are all berry flavored so they’d all be red.  I’m sure there’s plenty of other choices for red hot dog shaped candies too if you check your local candy store.

Popcorn Cupcakes

I love this idea, but I think the best way to pull this off and make it easy is going to be to combine a couple of different of different sources for inspiration.

There are two great ways to do the popcorn on top of the cupcake.  One way would be to use marshmallows.  Angenuityhas the best walkthrough on her site for how to make the mini-marshmallows look like popcorn:http://ang-enuity.blogspot.com/2012/07/popcorn-cupcake-tutorial.html

It looks great – would taste great – but is more than a little time-consuming.  SO, another option would be to use real popcorn.  It still looks great, still tastes great, but is a lot easier to put together:  The Cupcake Daily Bloghas a great recipe for using real popcorn and a caramel buttercream frosting… YUM!http://thecupcakedailyblog.com/popcorn-cupcakes-with-caramel-buttercream/

Then last, but not least,Or So She Says, has the best presentation, and a free printable sheet with the popcorn bucket cupcake wrappers.  It fits three to a sheet.  You can find her article here:http://oneshetwoshe.com/2014/05/cupcake-popcorn-wrapper-free-download.html

The direct link to the printable is hard to find on the article, so here it is:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwBrclN16hfJdzJjeEIwaHdvdG8/view
