5 Very Important a Bakery Facebook Page Needs
Social media can be a great tool to reach your customers and grow your bakery. It’s easy (ish)… free (ish)… and your customers are already using it and expect you to be there. If you’re like most businesses, you probably started with Facebook since it’s one ofthe most popular social platformsthere is.
To get the biggest bang for your buck while using it, you need to make sure that you have your page completely set up with all of the information that people will be looking for. So let’s take a look at what that is and how you get in to fill it out.
Because you own a bakery, your Facebook page needs to make it easy for people to find you, see examples of your work, and stay up to date on the latest flavors and specials you might have.
To make it easy to be found, you need to make sure you have things like:
- Your street address
- Your phone number
- Hours of operation
- Email Address (make sure to use one that you will check regularly)
- Website (if you have one)
You can find these options by logging into Facebook, and visiting your business page. Then click on “About” and click “Page Info.”
To edit something, hover your mouse on top of the one you want to change, and then click on the edit button.
While you’re in there adding your location info – go ahead and use this area to tell people more about your business and what types of products and services you have.
To do this, you can fill in:
- Short Description with your mission – why you are the best choice for your customer
- Long Description with a brief bio of who you are and what makes your bakery special
- Products with the types of baked goods you offer (cupcakes, pies, cakes, wedding & birthday special orders, etc)
- General Information with info about your company – especially anything about driving directions if your location is hard to spot from the road
Another thing you need to make sure you have for your page is branding. You might already have a logo and brand, but if you don’t, then just be consistent. Choose 1-2 fonts that you like, and 1-3 colors that you like and use those for everything.
Make sure to use your branding in your cover and profile photos on Facebook too. You don’t even have to be a designer to make a good set of photos… just use a tool like Canva that makes it easy to get the dimensions and everything right: https://www.canva.com/create/facebook-covers/
When you have your photos created, just follow the simple instructions on Canva’s page to upload them to Facebook: https://support.canva.com/hc/en-us/articles/203378690-How-do-I-upload-my-design-to-Facebook-
